Fighting Parkinson's disease through dance

BOISE, Idaho (KBOI) — One treasure valley class is helping the Parkinson's community Idaho through the power of dance.
By using music, movement, artistry and grace Dance for Parkinson's helps those suffering from the disease see improvements in their day to day lives.
Classes take place every Monday at Ballet Idaho and the Eagle Performing Art's Center. It is a nonprofit organization and the classes are completely free.
That is just one of the things that happens in the studio that makes the entire experience so moving.
Current Ballet Idaho principal dancer, Elizabeth Keller and an entire team of highly talented teachers and musicians provide a fun experience whiling using "Dance for PD" exercises.
The dance class focuses on as balance, flexibility, coordination, gait, isolation and depression.
The class not only provides a physical therapy but also a new group of friends that serves as a support system.
Dance for Parkinson's is having their very first fundraiser at the Flicks Boise on Thursday, November 9. Proceeds will go toward keeping the class free of charge for all Parkinson's students and those who support them.
