Virtual Event Virtual Event

“Your Morning Wake-Up Call” class is a communication and cognition exercise class that helps you start the day with a strong voice and a clear mind. Each session includes breath, voice, and speech exercises in conjunction with vocal + cognitive and conversational exercise challenges that change every week.

The goal of this program is to extend simple voice exercises to activities that help participants practice using that voice in challenging situations in order to replicate the types of daily challenges that people living with Parkinson’s experience every day.

“Your voice is your identity, and you bring it with you wherever you are. Join me for a challenging exercise program that combines voice and cognition alongside common movements and everyday activities.” — Dr. John Dean

Classes are hosted live on Mondays at 9:00 AM Pacific Time.
Classes will be recorded and added to our Resource Library as they happen.

John Dean is a speech language pathologist who has been specializing in Parkinson’s and related disorders for the past 16 years, helping individuals improve their communication and cognition in addition to addressing swallowing issues.

Since 2011, John has been collaborating with physiotherapist Josefa Domingos on dual task exercises that combine movement, voice, and cognition. In addition to his clinical work, he has been active in providing educational and exercise programs internationally, developing technologies for Parkinson’s, and collaborating with national and international nonprofits.

Our online and in-person programs are FREE to you because of the dedication of our partners, instructors, and generous donors. Thank you for helping to support our mission, so that no one walks the Parkinson’s journey alone.
